One of many central themes of ACIM is the concept of forgiveness. The Class shows that forgiveness isn’t only pardoning somebody for his or her wrongdoings, but instead, it’s the acceptance that there is nothing to forgive. It asserts that what we see as wrongdoings are ultimately caused by our personal misperceptions and projections. In forgiving the others, we’re, actually, forgiving ourselves. ACIM highlights that forgiveness is just a way to internal peace and liberation from the burdens of resentment and anger.
Yet another essential principle of A Course in Wonders is the proven fact that the bodily world is definitely an illusion. It posits our sensory activities are unreliable signs of reality and that correct belief can only just be performed through a shift in consciousness. The Class distinguishes a course in miracles the “real life,” which is a state of peace and oneness beyond the product world, and the “vanity earth,” known by fear, separation, and conflict. According to ACIM, our main function would be to wake from the desire of the pride world and come back to the awareness of our heavenly nature.
ACIM also presents the idea of the Sacred Nature as a guide and teacher within the individual. That spiritual presence is seen as the origin of motivation and knowledge, supporting people produce choices that lead people closer to reality and from illusion. The Course teaches that through our readiness to listen to the Sacred Spirit’s advice, we could access a deeper knowledge of our function and the way to healing.
The Workbook for Pupils in A Program in Miracles contains 365 instructions, one for every day of the year. These lessons are designed to help students internalize the teachings and use them with their everyday lives. They often include meditative and contemplative workouts, affirmations, and insights on the methods presented in the text. The purpose of these everyday lessons would be to shift the student’s perception and attitude slowly, primary them towards a state of true forgiveness, internal peace, and spiritual awakening.
